Application of wrapping film for pallets

1. Sealed packaging

This packaging is similar to shrink wrap. The film wraps the tray around the tray, and two thermal jaws heat seal the film at both ends. This is the earliest use of stretch film, and more packaging methods have been developed from it.

2. Full width packaging

This type of packaging requires the film width to cover the tray, and the tray shape is regular, so the applicable film thickness is 17 ~ 35μm

3. Hand packing

This kind of packaging is the simplest kind of stretch film packaging. The film is mounted on a shelf or held by hand, rotated by the tray or the film rotates around the tray. Mainly used for repackaging after the packaged pallet is damaged, ordinary pallet packaging. This kind of packaging speed is slow, and the suitable film thickness is 15-20μm;

4. Stretch film wrapping machine packaging

This is the most common and most common form of mechanical packaging, rotating through a backing or wrapping. Back and rotate, the film is fixed on the bracket and can be moved up and down. This pack can be quite large, around 15-18 pallets per hour. The suitable film thickness is about 15-25μm;

5. Horizontal mechanical packaging

Unlike other packaging, the film rotates around the item, which is suitable for the packaging of long goods, such as carpet, board, fiberboard, special-shaped materials, etc.;

6. Paper tube packaging

This is one of the newest uses of stretch film and is superior to old-fashioned paper tube packaging. The suitable film thickness is 30～120μm;

7. Packaging of small items

This is the latest stretch film packaging method, which not only reduces data consumption, but also reduces pallet storage space. In foreign countries, this kind of packaging was first introduced in 1984, and just one year later, many such packagings appeared on the market. This type of packaging has a lot of potential. The suitable film thickness is 15-30 μm;

8. Packaging of pipes and cables

This is an example of the application of stretch film in special fields. The packaging equipment is installed at the end of the production line and can replace a complete automatic stretch film belt binding data and can also play a maintenance role. The applicable thickness is 15-30μm.

9. Stretch method of pallet mechanism packaging

The packaging of stretch film must be stretched. The stretching methods of pallet mechanical packaging include direct stretching and pre-stretching. There are two kinds of pre-stretching, one is roller pre-stretching and the other is electric stretching.

Direct stretching is to complete the stretching between the tray and the film. This method has a low stretch ratio (about 15%-20%). If the stretching ratio exceeds 55% to 60%, the original compliance point of the film will be exceeded, the width of the film will be reduced, and the puncture performance will also be lost. Membranes are easily ruptured. And at 60% stretch rate, the pulling force is still very large, for light cargo, it is easy to deform the cargo.

Pre-stretching is done by two rollers. The two pre-stretching rolls of the drum are connected together by a gear arrangement. The draw ratio can vary depending on the gear ratio. The tension is created by the turntable. Since the stretching occurs in a very short interval, the friction between the roller and the film is also large, so the width of the film does not shrink and the original puncture performance of the film is maintained. There is no stretching during the actual winding process, which reduces the breakage caused by sharp edges and corners. This pre-stretch can increase the stretch ratio to 110%.

The stretching mechanism of motorized pre-stretching is the same as that of roll pre-stretching. The difference is that both rollers are powered by electricity, and the full stretch is independent of the rotation of the tray. Therefore, the compliance is stronger, and it is suitable for light, heavy and irregular goods. Due to the low tension during packaging, the pre-stretch rate of this method is as high as 300%, which greatly saves materials and reduces costs. A suitable film thickness is 15-24 μm.
